Stara Rzeka is the most acclaimed project of Kuba Ziołek, known also for such bands as Alameda 5, T’ien Lai and Kapital. His unique take on free-flowing psychedelic folk was brilliantly summed up on last year’s “Zamknęły się oczy ziemi” album, his final under this moniker. He is still performing under this name, and at Unsound will play together with Samo from Tajikistan, a group preserving local music such as falak (funerary genre), darguilik (lament songs) and lalaik (lullabies). This collaboration is commissioned with Goethe-Institut Tashkent.
Stara Rzeka is supported by the 2016 SHAPE platform, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
