From Tajikistan, Samo is a group preserving local music such as falak (funerary genre), darguilik (lament songs) and lalaik (lullabies). Founded in 2006 at the unique Museum of Musical instruments in Dushanbe, Samo consists of musicians from a village in the Pamir mountains who learned traditional melodies from their relatives and passing musicians. They will perform with Poland’s Stara Rzeka, as well as on their own.
