The Complainer
THE COMPLAINER presents THE SHRINE at UNSOUND 2011
After a variety of albums and download-only releases, now is the time for a final statement from Poland's infamous The Complainer.
Wojciech Kucharczyk started TC as a solo project, later turning it into a band playing "real“ instruments, from electro to dance-punk and ballads, with both raw and orchestral arrangements. After travelling the world with this group and recording new songs in sometimes bizzare places (for example, on the top of the Temple of The Sun in Teotihuacan or on the beaches of Miami), he is now returning to the solo show of his roots. The loop has closed.
The Shrine is a project created to tell stories about Wojciech’s fascination with the 80s, the time when he started to be a music fan and musician himself. And the best way to tell these stories is to play some of his favorite songs from that era.
The idea is to remain as close as possible to the originals, but still to stay genuinely unique and to sound current. Be ready for some new discoveries, re-discoveries, inventions and surprises. The visual aspect of the spectacle won’t leave you disappointed, either, and expect some spoken word too.
The Shrine opens it’s gates for all of you believers!
