Dengue Dengue Dengue

Dengue Dengue Dengue are a Peruvian duo exploring Latin sounds through an electronic and psychedelic lens. Recently, they’ve become interested in pandilla, exploring and collecting its sounds together with Mikołaj Kierski of Basy Tropikalne. Pandilla is a folkloric music and dance associated with the carnival in Loreto, Peru. The style developed in the lower Amazonian basin, in the Madre de Dios Department. While its specific origins are unknown, current pandilla is likely a hybrid of indigenous and mestizo forms, and locals describe it as the queen of Amazonian folklore. We can’t wait to find out what pandilla will morph into in the hands of Dengue Dengue Dengue!
