<![CDATA[UNSOUND NEWS]]> <![CDATA[Updated Film Program for Wyoming Building on Monday 8th Feb at Unsound Festival New York]]> Two films will be screened in Goethe-Institut's Wyoming Building on Monday 8th Feb at 6:30 pm, as part of the "Electronic Music Movies" session.

The first is the NYC debut of Kara Blake's 2009 documentary "The Delian Mode", which explores the life and work of electronic music pioneer Delia Derbyshire, the woman behind the distinctive Doctor Who theme music created at the BBC in the early 1980s. The film provides a glimpse into Derbyshire's creative process and supports her slowly growing notoriety as an innovative and influential figure in the history of electronic music.

Director Mika Taanila's "The Future Is Not What It Used To Be" finds a truly visionary subject in Erkki Kurenniemi , a Finnish scientist, artist, musician, film-maker, theorist and all-round cybernetic pioneer. The documentary includes footage of the unique DIMI-instruments developed by Kurenniemi, and segments from unfinished experimental short films from the 1960s. "The Future Is Not What It Used To Be" is a film about the 1960s avant-garde in music and film, the early history of microcomputers and the open questions of 21st century science.

The films screenings will be repeated on Friday 12th at 6:30 pm. Entry is free.

<![CDATA[The Festival Continues!]]> Moritz von Oswald Trip performing live at (Le) Poisson Rouge was already one of the highlights of Unsound Festival New York. But last night when the trio appeared on stage to perform with special guests Carl Craig and Francois K - well, there was magic in the air. Thanks very much to the band and the special guests for bringing this show to the festival.

This followed Groupshow's marathon performance with the Warhol film "Empire", a display of great music, not to mention endurance. As one audience member commented: "It sounds like New York itself."

The festival now continues for another full week of diverse and unexpected music, panel discussions and workshops. Check out the program, and make sure to come.

<![CDATA[Unsound Festival New York Program Change]]> Unsound Festival New York opened last night. Thanks to the artists, everyone involved, and all who turned up. It was a great beginning.

The shows in Walter Reade Theater tonight will now see Max Loderbauer of nsi. perform in a duo with Sasu Ripatti (Vladislav Delay, Luomo, Uusitalo). Carl Craig will perform as scheduled.

At Bunker at 5am, instead of Tobias Freund, Sasu Ripatti will also perform, as Uusitalo.

These changes have been made due to the fact Tobias Freund had to cancel his New York shows.

<![CDATA[Lillevan's Screen Tests on Youtube!]]> The video artist Lillevan has put some of the screen tests he made in Krakow in 2008 on youtube, to the sounds of Polish producer Jacek Sienkiewicz.

This commissioned project is part of Unsound's Warhol Series, all about revisiting Andy Warhol's film work via music and video art.

During Unsound Festival New York, Lillevan will move across New York with his video equipment filming the faces of New Yorkers, adding them to his growing bank of screen tests. Throughout the festival, these screen tests will be screened on the media wall in the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center. Lillevan will also use the material to perform live visuals on 12.10.2010, during one of the Bunker's Unsound club nights.

Also as part of the Warhol Series, Carl Craig will perform live music with Warhol's film "Blowjob" and nsi. with "Kiss." This event will take place in the Walter Reade Theatre on 5.02.2010. Both artists are currently very busy in their studios with a mass of analogue gear, working out their performances - exciting news indeed.

Finally, Groupshow will perform with Warhol's 8-hour long "Empire" in Le Poisson Rouge on 6.02.2010, from midday until 8pm. What's more, it's totally FREE.

See you soon, at Unsound Festival New York.

<![CDATA[Kompilacja Unsound Festival New York do ściągnięcia!]]> Festiwal Unsound przybędzie do klubów i sal koncertowych Nowego Jorku już 4 lutego.

Album do ściągnięcia tutaj.

Przepraszamy, album można ściągnąć tylko na terenie Stanów Zjednoczonych. Wszyscy, którzy chcą jednak zapoznać się z prezentowanym materiałem mogą posłuchać utworów on-line.
